NSW: Two Towers fans stampede cinemas
Lord of the Rings fans have got their second fix of fantasy, with sell-out crowds stampedingcinemas across the country.
Thousands of movie buffs are venturing out today to catch the second instalment inthe Tolkien trilogy, The Two Towers, on it's opening day in Australia.
Advanced bookings have taken care of a bulk of the tickets in major capital citiesfor today's showings.
Last Boxing Day, The Fellowship of the Ring clocked $4.1 million on its opening day,which its distributor, Roadshow Films, says was Australia's highest recorded day of trade.
Official box office takings for The Two Towers aren't released until tomorrow morning.
At Sydney's Fox Studios, where the film premiered last week, the scene is abuzz today,with all 12 sessions at the Hoyts multiplex a sell out.
